In partnership with Churches in Africa and the Caribbean, the URC is exploring how the legacy of Trans-Atlantic Slavery shapes our lives and world today. There are resources and information from the URC available here.
In 2023 at our General Assembly we offered a ‘Confession and Apology’ acknowledging the role played by our forebears in transatlantic slavery and our failure to dismantle the continuing legacies which blight our world today. The URC is committed to being an Anti-Racist Church and to seek to be changed and to bring change in the world to establish God’s Realm of Justice and Joy for all.
