The Heart of Christianity

By Marcus Borg & Tom Scorer

This book takes a fresh look at Christianity and seeks to describe

the emerging way of seeing it today. It asks: In this time of change

and conflict within the church, what is the heart of Christianity?

What is most central to an authentic Christianity and Christian life today?

Comments about this book:

“Borg repaints the life of faith in the broad brushes of metaphor finding the true heart of Jesus and Christianity. His words have enabled me to shape my thoughts and unlearn a lot of what I thought I knew and have given me a much deeper understanding of my faith than I thought possible.”

“A gentle, easy to read book which helped me to put my already held beliefs in order.”

“A timely reminder to re-think the gospel, taking our faith seriously, and re-finding the treasures hidden in it.“

Contextual Bible Study

The method of Contextual Bible Study was developed through the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. It is a clear and simple method, which inspires good discussion and thoughtful reflection. CBS aims to listen to the stories and wisdom of the Scriptures speaking from within their contexts to ours’ and to hear God’s message of salvation for individuals and for social transformation.
