In the life and work of the AUC community
AUC includes a diverse community of people, some of whom adhere to the community and other who have taken up formal membership.
Membership of Augustine United Church is a commitment to following Jesus in our lives and in the world, taking an active role in the AUC community and wider Church community.
In our Sunday worship services, at the Nitekirk and in most other occasions of worship, we try at AUC to involve participation in leadership.
Bible Readings, leading prayers, writing prayers, creating visual installations, preaching, writing poems, serving communion, leading music ... are all opportunities for people to participate in leading community worship.
Making the coffee, pastoral visiting, making rotas, helping in the soup kitchen, setting out chairs, reading at worship, serving on a URC Synod council, mental health drop-in, leading Junior Church, praying for others, painting for Fresh Start… volunteering is what keeps the church community and most community projects alive.
