Upgrading 2007
We have just completed upgrading the kitchen & toliets in our lower floor. This work has been carried out so that we can continue to be a place of sanctuary and Christian hope and service in the heart of Edinburgh. We have also installed new video projectors and upgraded the sound sytem in the Sanctuary and installed a ceiling mounted video projector, screen & basic stage lighting in the Studio. Work continues with the renovation of our basement areas and protecting the building from dampness coming through from the adjacent George IV Bridge |

Restoration Project & Access for all Project 2002-2005 Phase 1 of our Tower Project restored the tower to its original status (built 1861). This work was essential not only from a public safety point of view but also to ensure that the building can continue to be used by a wide range of church and community groups. This part of the project was supported by generous donations from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic Scotland, as well as other smaller grant giving bodies. Phase 2 has restored the rest of the exterior of the building. For this we have been generously assisted by Historic Scotland. At the same time we undertook "Access for All" - a building project inside the Church Centre which has improved access, security and communication. This has been our response to the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) which came into effect in October 2004. The Projects are now completed and our Church Centre is back in full use and our rooms and halls are available for hire with newly installed video presentation equipment in the Sanctuary. Download a leaflet produced in 2005 about the Church building. |
